As Welding Process Engineer you will be responsible for defining the manufacturing process for welding of fuel rods. You will ensure the technical specifications for a customers' fuel can be feasibly met using the defined process. You will also make sure that process conditions are maintained during the operation of the manufacturing process. Leading investigations on all welding problems through to completion, you will complete a paper/report for the customer and relevant committees. During a manufacturing campaign you will manage changes to the existing process. Furthermore you will be responsible for reviewing process performance and for developing improvements in order to optimize the process, seeing improvements through from conception to installation/completion. You will also serve as the main source of advice to Operations, Design and QC, liaising frequently with the quality department resolving any internal quality investigations. You will write, implement, manage and submit a report to the customer on all welding qualifications as well.
